Project: Edinburgh Airport - Stand Development and Enabling Works | Client: BAM Nutall | Duration: Sep 2016 - Dec 2016 | Suppliers: Titan Plant Hire Ltd

Scope: - Installation of 500mm Pavement Quality Concrete (PQC) - 150mm Wet Lean Concrete (WLC) Slab - New Drainage - Service Protection - Strengthening of AGL Pits

Details:

Gill Civil Engineering Limited (GCEL) were appointed to construct 4500m2 of a new stand in Edinburgh Airport. The scope of work includes 150mm wet lean concrete, 500mm PQC concrete, AGL ducting, Gatic Slot Drains and 10 no. reinforcement cover slabs.

Due to a tight paving schedule required concrete placement on day and night shifts in winter conditions, GCEL decided to mobilise the onsite batching plant to be in control of concrete production and delivery. All work was carried out in an airside environment.

The project was carried out during the cold winter months which made laying concrete a challenge. GCEL used a tent system with hot water to ensure there were no delays to the programme. Since its completion, the project has been a great success and GCEL’s contribution was highly valued and recognised by our client BAM Nutall.

Project Completion Date: Dec 2016
