Gill Civil delivered pavement renewal works at Manchester Airport’s Taxiway November Alpha and Stand 112, replacing deteriorated concrete and strengthening critical airside assets while maintaining safe operations within a live airfield environment.
Gill Civil delivered a programme of planned renewal and reactive support works at Manchester Airport, strengthening critical airside pavement assets at Taxiway November Alpha and Stand 112 to restore long-term performance and enhance operational resilience. Works included targeted PQC pavement renewal at Taxiway November Alpha, with the underlying lean mix inspected and replaced where required, alongside full-depth reconstruction at Stand 112 through the PQC, WLC and sub-base layers. Delivered across controlled daytime and night-time working windows, the programme demonstrated Gill Civil’s ability to deliver complex airside renewals safely, efficiently and with minimal disruption to airport operations.
Delivering pavement renewals on Taxiway November Alpha and Stand 112 within a live operational airfield required precise planning and close coordination. A critical fuel main easement restricted conventional breakout, requiring controlled lifting techniques to safely remove the existing pavement while protecting buried infrastructure. Daytime and night-time working were carefully coordinated to maximise productivity and minimise disruption to airport operations.
The completed works restored and strengthened critical pavement assets at Taxiway November Alpha and Stand 112, enhancing long-term durability and operational resilience. Controlled lifting around the fuel main enabled safe pavement removal while protecting critical buried infrastructure. Concrete was produced using an onsite batcher, with works fully tested for compliance through UKAS-accredited testing. Intelligent sequencing and flexible daytime and night-time working maximised efficiency while minimising disruption to airport operations, delivering a durable pavement solution safely, efficiently and to specification.
Gill Civil delivered pavement rehabilitation and infrastructure upgrades across Taxiway JE-JF and five stands at Manchester Airport, supporting Code C operations while maintaining access throughout complex live-airside works.
Gill Civil delivered full-depth rehabilitation of 29 damaged bays on Manchester Airport’s Echo 9 Taxiway, using onsite-batched concrete during restricted night possessions and completing the expanded works one shift ahead of schedule.
Gill Civil rehabilitated Taxiway Juliet at Manchester Airport within restricted night operations, completing the works ahead of schedule while enhancing pavement strength and maintaining full airfield functionality.
