Our commitment

Gill Civil Engineering Limited is committed to preventing acts of modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and throughout our supply chain. We take our responsibilities seriously and are committed to acting ethically, transparently, and with integrity in all business relationships.

We do not tolerate any form of forced labour, slavery, servitude, or human trafficking.

Our business

Gill Civil Engineering Limited operates in the United Kingdom. Our activities are supported by suppliers, contractors, and service providers, and we recognise the importance of ensuring that these relationships are managed responsibly.

Policies and governance

Gill Civil Engineering Limited’s approach to modern slavery and human trafficking is informed by the Gill Group Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Policy. This internal policy sets out our zero-tolerance approach and the responsibilities of directors, senior management, and employees.

Our directors and senior management are responsible for implementing and overseeing effective controls to mitigate the risk of modern slavery within our business and supply chains.

Due diligence and supply chains

As part of our supplier approval and ongoing review processes, we seek to understand and assess the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking. Where appropriate, this includes:

  • Reviewing supplier practices and controls
  • Monitoring suppliers operating outside the UK and EU, where risks may be higher
  • Taking action where concerns are identified, including disengaging from suppliers who fail to meet our standards

We will not knowingly engage with any organisation involved in modern slavery or human trafficking.

Risk assessment

We recognise that certain sectors and geographical regions may present a higher risk of modern slavery. We continue to monitor these risks and take proportionate steps to mitigate them.

Training and awareness

We ensure that directors and senior management understand the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking and their responsibilities in preventing it. Relevant policies are made available to employees, and guidance is provided where appropriate.
