Surrey Term Maintenance Works

Gill Civil has delivered full-depth concrete road reinstatement across Surrey, reconstructing carriageways to modern standards using high-durability concrete, enhanced reinforcement, and upgraded drainage and footways. Delivered under strict safety and quality controls, including UKAS testing, the works have extended asset life and modernised the highway networing. Following an initial pilot scheme, Gill Civil has developed an ongoing relationship with Surrey County Council, providing continued support across its pavement asset management programme.

Works were delivered through a planned reinstatement approach, with traffic management and stakeholder coordination arranged in advance to minimise disruption. Existing concrete was removed in a controlled manner to prevent damage to any underground services. Specialist mixes, precision equipment, and efficient sequencing enabled timely reopening within restricted hours while maintaining access. All schemes were completed on programme, delivering durable, high-quality carriageways in line with safety and environmental standards.

Careful planning, specialist techniques, and proactive stakeholder engagement enabled safe, efficient reinstatement with minimal disruption to residents, businesses and emergency services. Specialist mixes and coordinated delivery ensured durable, high-quality highways and timely reopening. Since a 2022 pilot scheme, our role has expanded within Surrey County Council’s pavement asset management programme, supporting ongoing planning and asset life extension. Our performance has been widely recognised, including nomination for a 2026 Gold Award for outstanding safety and quality.
